Hot Wheels (Showdown) - Packaging Design



Challenge:
In this era, the packaging is not only about its functionality. Nowadays, there are myriad brands that offer products of which features are very similar to each other. The main idea that separates each brand becomes vague, making every brand just looks the same. The visual created by designers should be able to visualize the product's or the brand's main ideas and yet may be aesthetically pleasing, as it is a focal point to stand out against its competitors and to attract the customers.

Solution:
Alternative 1: Postage stamp. To be collected and to be treasured. I imagine that Hot Wheels' cars of this series are some infamous cars of all time that car enthusiasts would really love collecting. Just as the postage stamps, that people used to collect when they received mails. I want not only the product that is can be 'treasured' but also the packaging itself.



Solution:
Alternative 2: The idea here is I want to emphasize the visual of the packaging by using a distorted car as if the car jumps out of the light. The text follows the flow of the car to enhance its unity and quirkiness.
